Sikkim Darjeeling Tour - Can be customised

Day 1 Pick up at Bagdogra Airport/N.J.P drive Gangtok, 126 kms, 4hours.
Day 2 Whole day sight seeing of Gangtok-visit Institute of Handloom & handicraft- tour around the museum, sale centre of Sikkimese Handicraft further drive to Flower show Centre which houses varieties of flowers and other ornamental plants. Visit Tashi View Point -avail good view of Mount Kanchendzonga -third highest peak in the world also seen are the sister peaks in the range. Ganesh Tok a temple dedicated to Lord Ganesh provides good view of Mountain Range and Gangtok town as well. Banjhakri falls where shamanist statues are in its art form. Pal Zurmang Kagyud Monastery in Lingdum has a beautiful Buddhist design. Chorten stupa , Institute of Tibetology educates hundreds of monks, centre too has a museum to show case sikkimese art and culture. Near by take a ride on a Ropeway which provides good view of canyon with river running through. , located 24 km off Gangtok, Rumtek Monastery built in the year 1959 is one of the biggest monasteries in Sikkim. Evening rest.
Day 3 Day trip to Tsomgo- Drive to Tsomgo lake,has different charm as the lake is situated at 12,400 feet where as Gangtok is at 5,500 feet. Change of vegetation altitudinal varieties is a must to observe. Lake is regarded as sacred as the meaning itself speaks of the head of the lake. Through a winding road with rhodendron bushes and shrubs and specially during the winter season-carpeted by snow, arrive at Nathula after 14 kms. Nathula (14600 feet) is Indi-Chinese picket and only pass to cross over to Tibet. 3 kms of drive through a beautiful landscape, arrive at Babamandir (13000 feet), Baba Harbhajan Sahib Mandir is a wishfull temple, people offer prayers and seek fulfillment of wishes. Later return to Gangtok. Nathula is confirmation is on the availability of permit.
Day 4 Gangtok drive to Lachen, 128kms, 6 hours drive , Lachen: 8838 feet. Enroute visit Seven sister falls and stop over at Singhik Kanchendzong View Point . Lachen a tribal village in one of the remotest place of Sikkim. Snow clad peaks overlook the village. Lachen experiences heavy snow fall during winter and it is the gateway to Gurudogmar Lake (17,300 feet, Chopta Valley).
Day 5 Lachen drive to Thangu for about 19 kms, 3km off the road visit Chopta Valley which provides a good view of serpentine river at the backdrop snow clad mountain peaks. Further drive to Gurudogmar Lake: 17,300 feet high 33 kms, one way. Lake is bluish in colour, at the backdrop mountain peaks covered pop out in a majestic scale. It is heaven on earth. later return to lachen, lunch further drive to Lachung for 2 hours, 54kms.
Day 6 Early morning drive to Yumthang (11880 feet), valley covered with snow clad mountain with large number of species of Rhododendrons and varieties of Primula Flowers. They bloom during spring and the summer. Further drive to Yumesamdong (15000 feet) or locally known as zero point for 26 kms. Drive through a hilly-winding road arrive at Yumesamdong where there is a hot spring and the mountains are crystal clear. In most of the time Yumesamdong has snow in abundance. Yumesamdong is optional tour, payment has to be done to driver directly which comes to Rs.2500/per car, Later return to Lachung.
Day 7 Lachung drive back to Gangtok, 126 kms, 6 hours.
Day 8 Gangtok drive Pelling125kms, 5 hours.6,100 feet. Drive through paddy field, forest cover and tea garden, enroute visit Siddheswar Temple at Namchi later drive to Rabongla and visit Buddha Park. Siddheswar Temple at Namchi is the replicas of four dhams spread across Indian Himalayas and Nepal. Buddha park at Rabongla has a tall statue of Buddha in a beautiful and serene environment. Further drive to Pelling. Transfer to Hotel.
Day 9 Pelling at 6,100 feet, provides an excellent view of Kanchendzonga range during autumn and winter. Rabdentse is the 2nd capital of erstwhile Kingdom of Sikkim which was established soon after consecration of First King at Yuksom and till the year 1840 A.D the King of Sikkim ruled from this place. Today, the ruins lie hidden from the main road at a walking distance. Sanga-Choling Monastery-built in 1697 A.D. is situated on a ridge above Pelling and the famous Pemayangtse Monastery is one of the oldest Monasteries. Sinchor bridge is said to be one of the highest brides in India. Visit Pemayangtse Monastery, Rabdentse Ruins further drive to Khechuperi lake 24 kms off Pelling. The shape of lake is in in Buddha’s food. Lake is covered with deep forest. It is one of the sacred lake of Sikkim. Enroute come across Kanchenjunga Water Falls, later also visit Famrong Waterfalls. When time permit, also visit Sinchore bridge near Dentam. Bridge is one of the highest in Asia. Later return to Pelling Transfer to Hotel.
Day 10 Pelling Drive to Darjeeling, 97 kms, 5 hours. 6,700 feet.
Day 11 Darjeeling Sightseeing.
Early morning around 4:00 am drive to Tiger hill to view the sunrise over Mount Kanchendzonga, the third highest peak in the world, later also visit Ghoom Monastery and halt at Batasia Loop. After the breakfast-continue with the sight seeing of P.N.Zoological Park, Himalayan (closed on Thursday), Maountaineering Institute, (closed on Thursday), Tibetan Refugee self-help centre (Sunday closed), Japanese Temple, Tea gardedn. Evening free. Chowrastra , good place to hand out.
Day 12 Darjeeling - NJP Rly Station / IXB Airport (98 kms / 3 hrs)
If the train departure is after 5 pm, one can even visit Mirik Lake and also Pasupati (Indo-Nepal border at an extra cost. Darjeeling to Pasupati is 34 kms, Taxi charge is around 23-2500. One can do boating in the mirik lake for which one has to avail the boat on direct payment system. Later drive to NJP/Bagdogra.

Places like Gurudogmar, Babamandir, Nathula are not opened for foreigners.
